Perl script for discriminating email addresses and message IDs
This Perl script tries to make an educated guess whether a string is an email address or a message ID. Reiner Steib translated this script to Lisp code for GNU Emacs, and it is now part of Gnus.
Boris Piwinger has written a different script which also categorizes message IDs, mostly based on patterns for many newsreaders and servers.
Python script to fetch articles from a newsserver
This script contacts an NNTP server to obtain the article with the message ID given on the command line.
Perl script to convert nnml folders to maildir folders
This script converts a nnml
mail folder to a maildir
mail folder. The script can be invoked repeatedly, and it skips messages which already exists in the destination folder.
Excel 2000 macro for renaming references in command bars
This excel spreadsheet contains a macro which can rename references in command bars. To the author's knowledge, there is no built-in search and replace functionality for those references. The macro is particularly useful if you your home directory has moved and you want to avoid the work of renaming each reference individually. A plain text version of the macro is available, too.
